Science in Room 18

Hi it’s room 18 checking you up on our science fair. Everyone has been very busy working nearly every day, man are we exhausted. We are so busy working we have spent more than 3 days. The most impressive I’ve seen so far is a lamp heating up an egg, the people in the group are Taylor, Jacob, Millie and James. They are investigating solar power. The egg is not edible but it works. The egg looks so YUM but we can’t eat it boo hoo… any way should we talk about others even if you don’t like it were going to talk about it anyway. One is putting water through a hole and it will go down the coke and sprite bottles and spin a water wheel. The next one is basically the same but more complex the water runs down one bottle and goes down little holes so spinning the wheel and so they don’t have to go and get some more water they have a water catcher it sucks the water down in to another bottle. Well that’s all I know. You know when I was writing this the experiments were taking place. When I heard about the science fair to me I felt really bad but I was put in charge of my group and I thought well it can’t be that bad can it, and it isn’t. So if kids are reading this please for science sake give it a go, it can be really fun so please try it please… well I think you’ve heard enough from me today so

The Disco

Dear Diary
On Friday I went to the disco and it was fun. I was dressed up like my self. It was a whole lot of fun because my friend and I were dancing. My friend was dressed up like a farmer he had a top on and a wig for hair. My friend and I were playing and dancing all night long.
After the disco I got into the car and then my bright yellow glow stick popped like a dinasour hatching out of its egg. It blew and went all over the car. When I got home I went to bed because I was so tired!

Term is coming up fast..

Hello there all you super cool Room 18 players,

This term our integrated unit, as you already know, is going to be about sustainable energy!!! What is it I hear you say??? Well I challenge you to find our as much about it as you can. Room 18's focus is hydro electricity!!! :-))

Room 18 Busy at Work

Dear Diary

MY first week at school was very fun. My teacher was very very nice she helped me with my work .We did some art work it was called a name bug or a name car we did a name car. I got a bit frustrated and cried. But when I got it finished it looked really cool. The next day we did cars. We needed to write our name 's on them and colour them in. I liked my one . We have 3 toys one is a polar bear and one is a care bear and a caterpillar. A few weeks later we did our self portraits. My one had a lime back ground and a red top, it looked just like me.

On the first day of school my mum didn't drop me at school. M mum and I waited for Emma and Stella to be dropped off. When I got here I met lots of new people and made new friends . I was hoping that I was in Kate's class. When I got at school I was a bit nervous but I had fun . I cant wait until tomorrow to do lots of cool stuff. By

Dear Diary

Dear Diary,

My first week of school was cool. On Monday we went to the library, I loved that because I am a bookworm. At the library we walked in and went over to sit on the stairs. We had a talk about where all the different kinds of books go. Then we had a talk about the rules. After that we all went off to look for two or less books. I found 'Bad, Bad Darlings' and the 'Jaquline Wilson' quiz book. When we all issued our books we went back to class.
On Tuesday we made some 'Name Cars', it's when we have to write our names, then copy them onto the other side. We had to make them identical. After you'd done that, you turned it into a car. They turned out looking awsome. On Wednesday at the end of the day we played SEAWEED. Mahia, George, Jacob and I were in at the start we didn't do so well but when we got near the end we rocked their socks. On Thursday we did our first session of reading we did three activitieys there was computers, reading with Whaea Kate and playing 21 with cards. On Friday I wrote this story. I had a great week.

The first week of school was a blast, I mean it was so COOL and everyone was giving Whaea Kate things. Like today, Jesse gave Whaea Kate a rose. She smelt it and she really loved it! The fragrance was beautiful.Now she has put it in a vase up on her shelf.On the first day of the week it was so cool because we started a recount its just that I love writing,it is so cool eh. I like my teacher she is so nice she even helped us with our work, nich eh. She reads us books and stuff.
